1. You know those patches that Boy Scouts wear on their uniforms? And you know the fabric glue that’s supposed to get the patches to stay put? Well, the adhesive didn’t, um, adhese. Off came the patches, and out came the needle and thread. I sewed patches onto my three Boy Scouts’ uniforms, plus a set of patches onto my Den Leader daughter’s uniform. The multiple puncture wounds in my fingertips should heal by Friday.
2. I have to admit that, although I love to cook, there just isn’t enough time these days to be inventive when it comes to meal planning. So I’m pleased that I managed to prepare a new recipe this week: French Canadian Meat Pie. Not only did it taste good, but it had a lovely golden crust that made it look like something out of a still life painting. Did my family like the pie? No-o-o-o. But I count this as a success anyway, because I got to eat all the leftovers.
3. I started working on a query letter for my book proposal. This is a success of the first order, since it’s one step closer to attaining a lifelong ambition. Anybody willing to lead a cheer?
