1. I’m wild about Good & Plenty candy, and every few days I’m compelled to buy myself a fresh bag. I don’t mean a large bag of “snack size” packets that are used for lunch sacks and trick-or-treat bags. That kind of bag contains as much cardboard as candy. No, I buy the Good & Plenty bulk-style bag, in which every bit of volume is taken up by delightful little pink and white candies. So the big news this week is that I succeeded in making a whole bag of Good & Plenty last five days instead of the usual three days. What can I say? One man’s chocolate is another man’s licorice.
2. I went to the post office and shipped a package. So what’s the big deal? Well, this particular package had been sitting on my desk for four months. It was never opened, because I knew that it held a product that I wasn’t going to use. When the package first arrived, I was supposed to have written the word “refused” on the box and dropped it into the nearest mailbox. Easy? Yes. Quick? Yes. But somehow a time span of four months wasn’t enough for me to get the job done. Until yesterday when, like Rafiki, I simply decided: “It is time.”
3. My most thrilling success of the week? I’ve been invited to write for www.CatholicMom.com. Huzzah! Look for my column every week, beginning sometime soon.
